With the modern blepharoplasty techniques, we can, within 45 minutes, banish fatigue and sadness from your gaze, which are due to sagging skin or the accumulation of fat in the periorbital area. The result is a refreshed, rested look, while in many cases the peripheral field of vision, which is often obstructed by drooping eyelids, is also improved. Depending on the needs of each person, we operate on the upper or lower eyelids, or both together, and if you wish, through blepharoplasty we achieve a brow lift or mid face lift effect for an overall renewal of the facial appearance.
100% natural effect
We apply the technique that is appropriate to provide the perfect result in your case.
Upper Blepharoplasty
With upper blepharoplasty, we remove excess skin on the upper eyelids, which seems to "cover" the eyes and weigh down the gaze, sometimes even obstructing vision. Upper blepharoplasty is performed with a small incision right on the natural crease of the upper eyelid, exactly where the skin folds when the eye is opened, so that after healing it is practically invisible. With upper blepharoplasty, we also decongest any swelling that is often found over the years in the inner corner of the eyes or the upper eyelids, while we also remove any accumulation of fat in the same area. In this way, the gaze "opens", looks more rested and at the same time the natural shape of the eyes is highlighted.
Lower Blepharoplasty
With lower blepharoplasty, we remove excess skin on the lower eyelids and the periorbital fat that is responsible for the bags under the eyes. In young cases where there is no excess skin, but only bags, we apply lower blepharoplasty through the conjunctiva, that is, through very small incisions on the inner surface of the eyelids, and thus completely avoid external scars. In more mature skin where there is a need to remove excess skin, we make the incision just below the eyelashes, so that it is invisible after it heals. The fat that we remove, we redistribute in the area in such a way as to erase dark circles and strengthen points where normal fat loss is observed over time.
Combination of Blepharoplasty & Canthoplasty
When the lower eyelid has become so loose that it has “dropped” the outer corner of the eye, giving a sad look to the gaze, then we can combine blepharoplasty with canthoplasty. It is a short technique in which we place an internal suture at the outer corner of the eye, in order to lift it and give the eye a more attractive almond shape. With the same method, we can create the famous “cat eye look”, which many women choose for a more seductive look. With canthoplasty, we can also correct cases where the looseness of the lower eyelid results in the iris of the eye being more strongly revealed.
Combination of Upper Blepharoplasty & Brow Lift
In cases where the tired look is not only due to excess skin on the upper eyelids, but also to drooping eyebrows due to sagging forehead skin, we can combine upper blepharoplasty with a brow lift. Through the same incision, we can go behind the eyebrows and use special sutures to lift them a few millimeters to “open” the eyes and give a more lively and youthful look. The sutures we use for the brow lift are absorbable and are placed in such a way that the result of the eyebrow lift is completely natural and matches your face.
Combination of Lower Blepharoplasty & Mid-Face Lift
In cases with visible signs of aging in the mid-face area, we can take advantage of lower blepharoplasty to simultaneously apply a mid-face lift. Through the same incision, we have the ability to lift sagging cheekbones and smooth nasolabial wrinkles. Using special internal sutures, we lift and hold the tissues, thus restoring the youthful appearance to the mid-face. The sutures are absorbed within a short period of time, as needed to stabilize the tissues in their new position.
What we DON'T do
We DO NOT throw away excess fat.
We apply the most modern method of blepharoplasty with which we utilize the fat removed from the eyelids to redistribute it and completely rejuvenate the area around the eyes. The advanced technique of liposuction has come to replace the classic blepharoplasty, with which excess skin and fat are permanently removed from the upper and lower eyelids. This tactic has been shown to worsen in the long term the “emptying” caused in the periorbital area due to normal aging. With liposuction we “fill” the grooves that are created around the eyes due to the gradual loss of fat and sagging skin. By transferring the fat to where it is needed, we erase dark circles and hide the bone skeleton that tends to protrude more strongly around the eyes over the years. With modern blepharoplasty, the area around the eyes appears evenly filled and the look remains youthful and rested for many decades.
We DO NOT perform Laser Blepharoplasty.
In clinics plastic Antiagers surgery, we use advanced Lasers for many aesthetic solutions, but not for blepharoplasty which requires removal of excess skin and special manipulations of the periorbital fat to achieve the desired youthful result. Laser blepharoplasty can only offer a superficial improvement in the area, as it smoothes fine wrinkles and brings about moderate tightening of the skin. In no case can it address a large degree of sagging, nor can it effectively correct all aesthetic deformities around the eyes, such as removing bags, erasing dark circles or redistributing fat where needed to provide an overall renewal of the look.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is blepharoplasty?
The skin around the eyes is thin and sensitive, which is why the eyelids are one of the first areas to show signs of aging. The muscles that support the upper and lower eyelids gradually weaken and relax as the years go by. This results in drooping eyelids, swelling, dark circles and bags under the eyes. In advanced stages, drooping eyelids can even make it difficult to see. Blepharoplasty is the procedure that can correct the appearance of the upper or lower eyelid, or both, offering a dramatically more youthful and rested look.
Is blepharoplasty painless?
Blepharoplasty is performed under local anesthesia. Therefore, it is understood that there is no pain at all during the surgery. It is an operation that lasts approximately 45 minutes. Patients can return home immediately afterwards. In the first 24 hours after surgery, you may notice some bruising and swelling in the area, but the discomfort is minor and vision is not obstructed.
When will the stitches be removed?
When upper blepharoplasty is performed, the stitches are removed in 5-7 days. The same happens in the case of lower blepharoplasty, since it has been performed with an external incision just below the eyelashes. However, if blepharoplasty has been performed through the conjunctiva, the stitches are placed inside the lower eyelid and are not removed, but are absorbed by the body itself. It should be noted that external incisions heal extremely well within the next 1 to 3 months, becoming practically invisible, especially since they are performed on natural folds of the skin.
Why is upper blepharoplasty more common?
Upper blepharoplasty is performed more frequently than lower blepharoplasty, as well as a combination of upper and lower blepharoplasty. This is because the upper eyelid shows signs of aging earlier and more intensely than the lower eyelid.
