For a beautiful smile
Resin veneers are thin, thin coatings (resin veneers) that the dentist places on the front surface of the teeth to improve the appearance of the smile. Veneers are an effective solution for changing the shape, color and position of the teeth. As far as the tooth is concerned, only the outer surface of the tooth should be lightly ground, approximately 0.2-0.5mm (in some cases, no grinding may be necessary at all). Veneers are made of composite resin and offer a natural appearance and durability.

What you need to know:
Why choose resin veneers?
Resin veneers are definitely an excellent choice for anyone who wants to correct cosmetic dental problems, without the need for more demanding and invasive procedures. One of the main reasons why resin veneers are chosen is their ability to improve the appearance of teeth without removing a significant portion of the natural tooth substance, which occurs when other methods such as crowns (cases) or bridges are chosen.
Veneers provide a natural appearance, as they can follow the color tone and morphology of the remaining teeth. They are easy to clean and have great durability over time.

What are the benefits?
Resin veneers are used in many cases, for example, sparse teeth, replacing old fillings, correcting discolored teeth, changing the shape of teeth. Clearly, there are cases in which the placement of resin veneers is not recommended, such as in the case of patients who smoke a lot or suffer from certain gum diseases, as well as cases where the gaps to be restored in the teeth are quite large (in this case, restoration will be done with porcelain veneers).
How many teeth can veneers be placed on?
Usually, we have a satisfactory aesthetic result when we place 6-10 veneers in the upper jaw and the same number in the lower jaw. However, when the jaw arches are wide and we observe unsightly spots on the back teeth on the right and left of the cheeks, then we may need to intervene on more teeth.

What are the disadvantages of aspects?
-Veneers cannot be used to restore large unsupported structures at a distance greater than 1-1.5 millimeters, such as large sparse teeth. In such cases, the use of porcelain veneers is preferred.
-Gradually over time, we may notice a “dullness” of the resin surface. This is why polishing is recommended every 6-9 months.
-A basic requirement for resin veneers is good periodontal tissue health (gums and bone), atraumatic occlusion, and the absence of the need for individual special solutions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the use of resin veneers offer us?
With resin veneers we can improve the appearance of teeth and correct any imperfections or change their shape or color.
Are there different types of resin veneers?
Resin veneers are classified according to the type of problem the patient has, for example, changing shape, discoloration, or correcting imperfections.
When are resin veneers used?
Resin veneers can be used for:
- sparse teeth
- replacement of old seals
- change in tooth shape or color
- other aesthetic improvements
How long does it take to place resin veneers?
Placing resin veneers is a relatively quick procedure, which can be completed in 1 or 2 sessions.
Can resin veneers be placed over old fillings or cases?
One of the main uses of resin veneers is to cover fillings on front teeth. However, replacing old fillings with new ones is always a priority, as they often hide cavities. Once this process is complete, aesthetic restoration with resin veneers can follow.
Can resin veneers be performed in combination with other cosmetic procedures?
Yes, resin veneers can be combined with other cosmetic procedures, such as crowns, bridges, implants, whitening, etc. Depending on the case, they can locally correct a problem in one or more teeth. The choice of the appropriate method will depend on factors such as the individual's aesthetic preferences, cost and of course the general state of oral health.
Can resin veneers be applied to crooked teeth?
Crooked teeth require orthodontic treatment. Of course, when this is not possible, we can use resin veneers to straighten crooked teeth. This is only true in very mild cases. However, in some cases, it may be necessary to add a little volume to some teeth to achieve the desired alignment, which the patient may initially feel with their tongue.
Can whitening be performed when there are resin veneers on the teeth?
If someone wishes to change the color of the veneers, this can be done by removing the surface layer and adding a whiter material. Bleaching is a process that changes the color of natural teeth and does not affect the color of the resin at all. We have a wide color chart at our disposal so that we can achieve the desired result.
Do I need to avoid anything after placement?
After placing the resin veneers, the dentist will give you advice and instructions to ensure the longevity of your new veneers:
- We avoid chewing hard foods, such as nuts or ice cubes, to prevent damage to the veneers.
- We avoid biting hard objects such as nails or a pencil to prevent the possibility of the veneers tearing or detaching.
- We limit the consumption of coffee, tobacco, red wine and substances that can alter the color. In the event that any of the above occurs, we immediately rinse our mouth well with water.
- We follow oral hygiene instructions. That is, brushing our teeth daily at least twice a day, using dental floss and mouthwash.
- We do not skip regular dental cleanings every six months, in order to remove any stains and ensure the longevity of the veneers. The polishing process of resin veneers is also important, because it is a porous material that gradually loses its shine.
