Laser Skin Resurfacing
With the solution, new skin emerges!
What is Fractional Laser?
The Fractional Laser uses advanced technology that allows it to act on both the most superficial and the deepest layers of the skin and stimulates the natural healing and cell renewal mechanisms, replacing old and damaged cells with fresh, radiant, healthy skin. It is a safe solution that can be applied to any area of the body and significantly improves the appearance, texture, tone and color of the skin.
OR cutting-edge technology The advanced Harmony XL Pro of The Antiagers Clinics acts on two levels. On the one hand, the Laser energy causes a controlled peeling of the outer and most damaged layer of the skin. In this way, dead cells are removed which are responsible for its dull appearance, but and the accumulated melanocytes responsible for unsightly spots and blemishes. At the same time, the thermal energy of the Laser causes tissue shrinkage, resulting in immediate skin tightening. At the same time, collagen production is stimulated, with significant long-term benefits in the treatment of wrinkles and sagging skin, as well as in the improvement of scars and stretch marks. The Fractional Laser is a multi-tool in body solutions, which clearly superior to alternative solutions such as chemical peeling or dermabrasion, thanks to the ability to adjust the parameters of the solution (wavelength, power, duration of laser pulses, etc.) depending on the type and needs of each skin.
.

How is Fractional Laser applied?
The light energy of the Fractional Laser is absorbed by the water molecules of the connective tissue and converted into heat, causing on the one hand the sublimation of the most damaged outer layer of the skin (epidermis), and on the other hand controlled microtrauma of the deeper layer of the dermis (dermis). From there, the rest of the work is taken care of by the body itself! Immediately, the body enters the process of intensively creating new collagen and elastin fibers, in order to heal the points of microtrauma. In this way, Fractional Laser contributes to the emergence of new skin from the inside out, which is why the solution is also known as Laser Skin Resurfacing!
In our clinic, for the application of Fractional Laser solutions, we use the Laser Harmony of the Alma company, which belongs to the Erbium Laser category (with a wavelength of 2,940 nanometers) and offers a more targeted and effective action compared to Fractional Lasers that belong to the CO2 category.
The Dermapen moves perpendicularly to the skin and the micro-holes are invisible, but capable of activating the activity of cells to heal them. Depending on the purpose and point of application, the micro-needles are adjusted by the doctor to penetrate to a depth of 0.2 to 3 millimeters into the skin. With the appropriate depth adjustment and the small diameter of the Dermapen head, it is possible to treat even the most curved parts of the face like the nose, smaller areas like the lips, but also the most sensitive points such as the area around the eyes.
For which body solutions
Is Fractional Laser suitable?
Fractional Laser for scars
Whatever the cause of the scars (acne, injury, surgery, burn, etc.), Their appearance is often a cause of embarrassment and reduced self-confidence. In addition to the face, unsightly scars can be found anywhere on the body, with acne scars, for example, being very common. on the back, shoulders and chest.
Compared to other scar solutions, such as dermabrasion and chemical peels, the Erbium Fractional Laser solution offers a more targeted effect, as on the one hand the intensity of the Laser can be adjusted, and on the other hand its energy is absorbed by the water molecules of the tissues, causing sublimation of the epidermis and thermal microtrauma of the dermis. The Erbium Fractional Laser is an ideal solution for atrophic scars, as it reduces the depth of the scar boundaries and stimulates collagenogenesis, resulting in filling the depressions that appear in the epidermis.

Fractional Laser for stretch marks
When the skin goes through a period of intense stretching (due to pregnancy, sudden weight gain, sudden height gain during puberty, etc.), this constant stretching results in the tearing of connective tissues. The problem is usually found in the abdomen, sides of the waist, the circumference, the thighs, and the breasts. The skin begins the process of healing and repairing the tear, but in its place leaves red scars in the form of stretch marks. Although their color fades over time, stretch marks remain visible in the form of white scars.
Stretch marks are a challenge to treat, as they form deep within the dermis. However, the energy of the Fractional Laser penetrates deep into the dermis and stimulates connective tissue cells to produce collagen and elastin. The result is the replacement of old damaged tissue with new connective tissue, which makes stretch marks narrower and less visible, and gives smoother, healthier skin to the area.
Fractional Laser for signs of photoaging
In addition to signs of aging, the passage of time and exposure to the sun also cause signs of photoaging. The Laser Skin Resurfacing method is suitable to treat both age spots and sun spots which appear not only on the face, but also on the body (most commonly on the shoulders, back, chest and arms).
The Erbium Fractional Laser causes the controlled peeling of the outer and oldest layer of the skin, where brown spots, age spots and other skin lesions resulting from excessive exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays are located.

Step by step
Fractional Laser
Step 1
Before the application begins, a local anesthetic cream is applied, which needs to act for approximately 30-40 minutes in order to numb the skin. Before the session begins, you are given special glasses to protect your eyes from the light energy of the Laser.

Step 2
Depending on the area of application and your skin type, the wavelength, pulse duration, intensity and other parameters of the Laser technology are adjusted appropriately. Immediately after, the scanning of the entire area of application with the Harmony Laser head begins. With each pulse of the Laser, you can see the sublimation of the skin, without however feeling any discomfort.
Step 3
At the end of the session, you can remove the special glasses. At the application site, the imprint from the Laser action is visible, appearing as fine dots. An enhanced moisturizing and regenerating cream (baume) is applied to the site and after scheduling your next appointment, you can return to your daily activities. The skin regeneration mechanism has already started!

Frequently Asked Questions
How many Fractional Laser sessions will I need?
The number of sessions required depends on the condition of your skin, as well as the purpose of the solution. If your skin has mild sagging and fine wrinkles, then an average of 4-6 sessions are needed. If the goal of the solution is to improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks or blemishes, then 1-3 sessions may be enough.
Does it hurt?
No. A local anesthetic cream is always applied approximately 30-40 minutes in advance, so that the skin is numb before the start of the Laser application. Since our clinic uses the advanced Harmony Laser, which is an Erbium-type Fractional Laser, its energy is absorbed very effectively by the water molecules of the connective tissue and the outer layer of the skin is immediately sublimated. The milder action of this Laser and the ability to adjust its parameters allow for a personalized application, which is not at all aggressive like with a CO2 Fractional Laser, as a thinner layer of skin is sublimated, with a thickness of only a few millionths of a meter (microns).
Is there a recovery time?
For only a few days, a mild irritation and swelling is observed in the application area. The skin may have a red or brownish tint, but this is something that subsides after a few days. Around the 5th-7th day, a mild peeling begins in the area that resembles that of a chemical peel and manifests itself with white flakes. This is an indication that the solution has begun to revitalize your skin. It is enough to use a moisturizer during this time. In the following days, fresh, radiant, healthy skin will emerge!
When will the result be visible?
The Fractional Laser body solution is one of the few solutions that immediately reveals part of the result. The heat of the Laser causes immediate shrinkage of the tissues, which results in an immediate tightening and firming of the skin. However, the result is significantly enhanced once the time required for the skin to peel off (approximately 7-10 days) and the outer layer and dead cells responsible for the dull and rough appearance of the skin are removed. Little by little, fresh, healthy, tight skin begins to emerge, the appearance of scars and stretch marks improves, spots fade, and as the collagenogenesis process progresses, you see your skin at its best in the following months.
Is Erbium Fractional Laser the same as CO2 Fractional Laser?
No. Both lasers may belong to the ablative Fractional Laser category (fractional lasers that cause peeling of the skin) and are used for Laser Skin Resurfacing solutions, but they are not the same. The Erbium Laser (or Er:YAG Laser) sublimates a thinner layer of skin compared to CO2 and causes less thermal damage to the connective tissue, as its energy is absorbed more effectively by the water molecules of the tissues. This means that with the Erbium Laser, heat is minimized, more controlled peeling of the skin is performed and the healing process and the recovery period are accelerated. In general, the CO2 Fractional Laser solution involves approximately double the recovery time with the skin remaining intensely irritated for more days. The milder and more controlled action of the Erbium Laser also minimizes the possibility of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that exists with the CO2 Laser.
